Course Overview
This intensive and highly interactive, experience driven 3-day workshop offers managers and front line staff, the opportunity to develop the knowledge base with respect to Supply Chain Management. The workshop equips the managers with necessary tools and techniques needed to design and implement an effective and sustainable supply chain strategy that enhances the organization’s competitiveness.
This workshop focuses on the management of supply chain channel and specifically the inbound channel. In an end-to-end supply chain, logistics is a vital component of value chain according to Michael Porter. A firm’s grip of logistics processes, tools and techniques gives professionals from industry a strategic advantage in managing the flows of products and services. Tomorrow’s manager will realize that performance and success should be judged PRIMARILY by the ease and speed of the flow of material from the original source to the consumer and vice versa. A goal of future logistics manager will therefore be two folded:
- Do nothing to impede the flow
- Discover ways in which that flow can be accelerated
The workshop is designed to disseminate the concepts in inbound and outbound parts of a supply chain in detail. What product do we need to deliver, to whom, when, and by what time? How can we plan and coordinate the movements of all these activities to meet timelines? What is bullwhip effect? How can we balance supply with demand in a most effective and optimal manner? The answer to these critical questions is aimed at this super charged workshop.
