Course Overview
Around the world, email has become the most important form of communication for businesses. You can communicate internationally very quickly, without worrying about time differences between countries – and you can expect to get a quick reply. However, there are some problems with writing emails. Because it is so easy, it is tempting to write in the same way as you speak. This is not a problem with emails between friends, but when you are sending an email for business, there are some important things to think about.
Sometimes people do not respond to your emails in the way you expect. Other times they just seem to miss or ignore the critical message in the email. This leads you to think if you are making the best possible impression with your emails. When you compose an email message, there are some simple rules that you can follow to ensure that your emails make a positive impression, and get you the response you want.
However, despite its many advantages, email poses some challenges for its users. In a busy business life, e-mailing is used as a substitute for other kinds of communication with the result that many people find it very difficult to adjust their communication styles to this new medium.
