Course Overview
Lean manufacturing is a systematic method for waste minimization. It makes obvious what adds value by reducing everything else. This management philosophy is derived mostly from the Toyota Production Systems (TPS) and identified as "lean" only in the 1990s. Lean manufacturing is the result of lean thinking and lean behaviors. Lean enterprise works on cost reduction initiatives and improved processes ensure the market growth and competitive advantages to have the lead in the corporate world.
Six Sigma has proven to be a valuable strategy to meet the market demand for on-time operations, better services and higher productivity. A world operating at a six-sigma level would be much safer, with fewer errors than the ones listed in without six-sigma level having higher defect rate, dissatisfied customers, poor efficiencies, low productivity and declining market share.
